US President Joe Biden will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli war cabinet during his visit to better understand Israel's plans and objectives in the ongoing war.
It’s not every day that the president of the United States flies to Israel during a war to demonstrate his support for the Jewish state.
“Do not forget the lives that you will see lost on TV. Israeli lives and Palestinian lives are all the result of Hamas,” Romney said.
At a Human Rights Campaign National Dinner in Washington, Biden said that these “innocent Palestinians are being used as human shields.”
The vast majority of members of the House and Senate have expressed support for Israel, with only a handful of holdouts.
More than 50 Federation communities in North America had announced their plans for what was termed “gatherings of solidarity.”
The official also appeared to dismiss concerns that the United States might struggle to supply Israel at the same time that it funnels weaponry to Ukraine.
Biden said the United States was working with Israeli officials to obtain more information as to the whereabouts of US citizens who are still unaccounted for.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US had not confirmed any numbers yet but was pursuing reports of Americans among the casualties.
"Our friendship goes back over 40 years and can take us a long way," Netanyahu told the US president.
